Aveline de Bruin is responsible for the organization of the collection de Bruin-Heijn, a Dutch-based, international collection of contemporary art, a post she has held since 2008. She is also the founding director of Quetzal Art Centre in Portugal. She curates exhibitions, organizes performances and hosts film screenings in different contexts with and without the collection. In addition, she has also instigated commissions and collaborations with artists and curators.
She is on the advisory board of the Frans Hals Museum, Haarlem and the Oude Kerk, Amsterdam and board member of Amsterdam Art week and the BeamFoundation. Previously she worked for Artimo, a publishing house for art, design and architecture books, as well as for Droog Design both located in Amsterdam. She holds a MA in art history from the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam.
